Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is a part of recently introduced Unified Selection System to provide adequate opportunities to the candidates eligible for multiple branches of the IAF to apply through single application. AFCAT is conducted for the following non UPSC entries for induction into Officers’ cadre of the IAF.

Flying branch
Short Service Commission (Men / Women)

Technical branch
Permanent Commission (Men) / Short Service Commission (Men / Women)

Ground Duty branches
Permanent Commission (Men) / Short Service Commission (Men / Women)


Tentative Important Dates:

Date of Advt: Dec, 2012
Last date of application: Jan, 2012
Date of AFCAT: Feb, 2012

Air force common admission test is conducted by the Indian Air force twice in a year. First in the month of February and other in the month of August. This exam is conducted for the selection of candidate as an officer in Indian Air force, Army and Navy.

For the AFACT examination a candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university. Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for the AFACT examination. For the Technical Branch only the engineering students are eligible.

The next dates for the AFCAT examination is not announced yet but the tentative dates for the examination is given below:

Date of Notification: Mid of JULY
Last date of application: First week of August.
Date of exam: 2nd week of august
