My son is doing his Grade 12 in South Africa. kindly let me know the procedure for him to get admission in IIT.

The procedure to join B.Tech. or other equivalent undergraduate programs at any of
the 15 IITs for NRI candidates is same as that of procedure for candidates residing
in India.

There is no reservation of seats in any IIT under NRI quota.
All the admission policies are same.

Till the year 2011 Joint Entrance Examination was conducted by IITs for admission
to undergraduate programs at various IIT campuses.
The entrance examination has to be conducted in the 2012 also but from next year
the separate entrance examination of IITs might terminate.

In that case the admission to the IITs will be done through a Common Entrance Test
which will be a single Common Entrance Test for admission to entire engineering colleges
of the country.
The final decision in this regard is still pending.

So if the IIT-JEE continues you (your son) have to appear and qualify JEE to get admission
in an IIT and if it terminated you will have to appear the CET and after the result of CET
you will have to apply fr admission in IITs.
The procedure remains the same for normal residents and NRIs.

everyone should write iitjee whether he belongs to other nation also after filling online application form you should send printed application to the iit which is the organiser of up coming iit if your son gets a rank you should keep choices filling online if you belong to general catagory except general catagory all should go to respective iits for choice filling if you son is general catagory he should send xerox copies of his certificates after the declaration of results

My Son is studying in Chennai and working hard for IIT. I explore if there is any NRI quota as Live in UK.
