The stream of engineering that deals with all the processes involved in turning raw materials into finished item. It involves the intricate design and planning that creates finished product.
Production engineering is basically combination of manufacturing technology with management science. Production engineering is involved with the application of following things: >>Castings >>Machining Processing. >>Joining processes. >>Metal cutting and tool design >>Automation, jigs and fixtures. >>Metrology, Machine tools etc. Scope of Production engineering in future: After having bachelor's degree in production engineering, you can get jobs in Public Sector Undertakings like: 1. National Thermal Power Corporation. 2. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. 3. Steel Authority of India limited. You need to have good GATE scorecard in order to get jobs in these PSUs. In private firms, you can get placed in: >>In automobile industries for inspection, quality control and automated equipment's operation. >>Manufacturing industries. >>Food Processing industries. Some of the companies which recruit Production engineer are NALCO, Tata motors, Tata Steel, TCIL, HAL etc. |
