--Candidate must passed final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination

--Candidate must secure minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

::After completing 12th you should go for a graduate degree (BE / B.Tech) in Genetic Engineering. The eligibility criteria for this program are as following:

--The applicant must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics as well as genetics as part of the biology.

The duration of this course is 4 years...

The basic qualification for biotechnology and genetic engineering is that the candidate muast be 10+2 with 50% marks with subjects like biology,chemistry,physics,and maths.
There are some institutions where biology is compulsory whereas some accept only PCM subjects.
You can go for B.Sc./BE/BTech etc.
The B.Sc. Is a 3 year course whereas the BTech/BE is a 4 year course.
