Re: What is the qualification for NET SET exam?
NET means National Eligibility Test while SET stands for State Eligibility Test. There is very little difference between the two exams.
National Eligibility Test is conducted by University Grants Commission for the central government colleges while State Eligibility Test is responsibility of each state to conduct for its colleges. The requirement for both exams remains the same. After clearing NET you can apply for lectureship in central government colleges while after clearing SET, you can apply for job in the very state where you appeared for exam. For example if you appeared for Gujarat SET then you can apply for lectureship in Gujarat's colleges. Apart from the college lectureship both these exams are also conducted for the Junior Research Fellowship. Eligibility 1. Any citizen of India can apply for these exams. 2. You must be post graduation degree holder. 3. Need to secure 55 percent marks in master's degree. 4. Relaxation of 5 percent marks for SC/ST. 5. You are free to apply even during final year of post graduation. 6. Final year candidates will have to submit degree in 2 years. 7. Subject will depend on your master's degree. 8. Age limit for JRF is 28 years (General). 9. 31 year is the limit for OBC. 10. The age limit for SC/ST interested in appearing for JRF is 33 years. 11. There is lower age limit of 19 years for lectureship. 12. There is no upper age limit. |

Re: What is the qualification for NET SET exam?
Post Graduation with 55% in any discipline from a recognized University is the minimum qualification required for UGC NET.
There is 5% relaxation in marks for SC/ST/PWD candidates and they need only 50% marks for becoming eligible for UGC NET. So if you have the above qualification then you can start you preparation for the UGC NET. Qualifying UGC NET will make you eligible for Lecturer posts in Government colleges. If you are below 28 years old then you can also apply fro Junior Research Fellowships. UGC NET Exam Pattern: There is no negative marking in UGC NET. Re: What is the qualification for NET SET exam?
Dear Friend,
The Acronym "NET" stands for National Eligibility Test, whereas the Acronym "SET" stands for State Eligibility Test. The NET Exam is conducted twice every year by the University Grants commission for the selection of candidates in Governmental Colleges owned and managed by the Central Government. Whereas the SET Exam follows the same procedure as that of the NET Exam but the only difference is that its conducted by the respective state governments to fulfill the vacancies at the State Colleges. The University Grants Commission conducts the NET Exam twice every year in the months of June and December for the following posts : * Junior Research Fellowship * Lectureship The Eligibility Criteria Required for the NET Exam are : # Educational Qualifications : >> The Candidate must have completed post graduation in any stream from any UGC recognized university. >> The candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in Post Graduation. >> Candidates pursuing final year in post graduation can also apply for the NET Exam. # Age Limitations : >> There is no age limit for the post of Lectureship. >> The Age Limit for the post of JRF is 21-28 years. # Nationality : >> Only Indian Citizens/Candidates are eligible to appear for the NET. The SET Exam have the same eligibility criteria but the only thing different is that these requirements are made compulsory by the State Governments following the Central Government. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |
