Sir i just give the 12th standard exam i want to join NDA my hight is 173 cm and my weight is 75kg i am doing gym regularly can i eligible to appear?

Dear Friend,

The Acronym "NDA" stands for National Defense Academy. The Union Public Service Commission conducts the NDA Exam twice every year as NDA-I & NDA-II in the months of April and August.

Through this exam , we have the opportunity to join any of the following wings of Indian Defense :

* Indian Army

* Indian Navy

* Indian Air Force

The Required Physical Standards for NDA Exam are :

a) Minimum Height Required :-



b) Required Eyesight :-



Apart from the Physical standards, you need to fulfill the other eligibility criteria too :

* You must have completed 12th with PCM from any recognized board.

* Candidates appearing in 12th can also appear for the NDA-II Exam.

* The Age Limit for NDA exam is 16.5-19 yrs.

* No relaxation in upper age is given to candidates belonging to any category.

* Only male candidates are eligible for the NDA Exam.

* The candidates must be unmarried and have Indian Nationality.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts NDA Examination twice in a year ,i.e., NDA I & NDA II for the recruitmentof the interested candidates in its various wings.

• Air Force wing

• Written Exam
• Interview round
• Medical test

~♦ Eligibility Requirements :

• You should have completed 12th from a recognized university.
• You should be a permanent citizen of India.
• Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.
• You must be an unmarried male.

~♦ Physical Requirements :

• You should not be overweight or underweight.
• Your height should be more than 153 cms. (And for Air Force - 162 cms)
• You should have a proper eyesight.
• Your chest size should be more than 81 cms.

Eligibility and Criteria:

A candidate must have completed their 12th std from recognized Board.are eligible for National Defense Academy exam....

Age of candidate should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years. No relaxation in upper age.....

Only Unmarried Male are eligible for it. girls are not eligible for this exam...

A Candidate have nationality of INDIA...


Exam Pattern:

2. Main Exam
3. Physical Test & Personal Interview

Physical standards for NDA :

>>You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
>>The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air-Force).
>>Your chest should be well developed, Fully expanded chest should not be less than 81 cms. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cms.

Eye Sight Eligibility :


>>You should be able to read in a distant vision chart 6/6 in better eye and 6/9 in worse eye with or without glasses.
>>Myopia should not be more than 2.5 D and hypermetropia not more than 3.5 D including Astigmatism.

Vision standard for Naval candidates:


>> Uncorrected without glass : 6/9
>> Corrected with glass : 6/6
>> Limits of Myopia : -0.75
>> Limits of Hypermetropia : +1.5
>> Binocular vision : III

Those who habitually wear spectacles are not eligible for Air Force, Minimum distant vision 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for Hypermetropia, Color vision CP-I Hypermetropia : + 2.0 D Sph

>> Manifest Myopia : Nil
>> Limits of colour perception : I

NDA stand for National Defence Service Exam. NDA Examination is conducted in 3 wings-Indian Air Force ,Indian Navy and Indian Army

The candidate must have a complete the 12th from a recognized board Or equivalent qualification are applicable for NDA exam.

You have completed 12th standard so you are applicable for NDA exam .Need not require any percentage marks .

The candidate age should between 16.5 years to 19 years.There is no age relaxation for Sc/ST candidate . Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply. You must have Citizenship of India.

NDA I date already over for this year so you can try for NDA II Exam .The notification is given below-

Date of Notification : 04.05.2013
Last date for receipt of application : 03.06.2013
Date of commencement of Exam : 11.08.2013

The selection procedure for NDA exam are Written Examination ,Medical Test ,Physical Test , Personnel Interview

We Ankur,Vansh and Abhimanyu of class 10 is not worried about physical test but we are
worried about written exam.

NDA exam, conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). NDA is an entrance for joining in Indian Defense Services, different cadre's like

• Indian Army Academy.
• Indian Navy Academy.
• Indian Air Force Academy.

NDA eligibilty:-

• You must be a citizen of India.
• You must strictly be a unmarried male candidate.
• You must have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years.
• You must have completed +2 from a recognized school board with a fair percentage so that they can be eligible for the NDA exam.
• You must be a physically fit while appearing for the NDA Exam as per the physical standards as it is very important.

Physical Standard for NDA :

• You should not be overweight or underweight i.e. your weight must be according to your height.
• Your height should be more than 153 cms. (And for Air Force - 162 cms)
• You should have a proper eyesight.
• Your chest size should be more than 81 cms.


So friend, to apply for NDA, you must have age not more than 19 years, and there is no upper age relaxation for special category aspirants.You can also visit at the official website of UPSC if you have any doubt.

Physical criteria for NDA are:
height and weight are according to the BMI.
Minimum acceptable weight is 157.5 cm for army and 162.5 cm for Air force.
Thus, you are eligible to apply for the NDA which is conducted by the UPSC twice a year.

Sir my height is 162 cm and weight is 65 kg. Is I am eligible for the exam
