IES Stands for Engineering Service Examination and the examination was conducted by UPSC One time in a Year.

And to apply for this examination you need to complete your Degree course in Engineering from a recognised University And the Recruitment on the results of this examination will be made to the Services/ Posts under the following categories -

>> Civil Engineering.
>> Mecahnical Engineering.
>> Electrical Engineering.
>> Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

After clear this examination, You will get Good salary and the Starting Salary of Junior IES officer is -

Basic pay - 7,000
Hardship allowance - 4,900
Daily allowance - 1,900

Total after Deducting Tax = Rs 13,000

Salary Of IES Group A Service -

Basic pay - Rs 15600- 39100

Grade Pay ( PB-3) - Rs 5400

DA - Rs 9180

HRA - Rs 6300

TA (TRANSPORT ALLOWANCES) - Rs 3200

TOTAL SALARY - Rs 39680.

the total salary in hand will be around 40000. but if you include the other allowances and facilities given the total monthly package would be in lakhs.

Pay of IES officer: 15600 (Basic)+5400(Grade)+DA+HRA+others. Gross would be around 36,000Rs per month.
