There are mainly two stages for IPS selection. In the preliminary selection, there will be a written test comprising questions on GK and Aptitude. In GK, you can expect questions on Indian Polity, Indian Constitution and World/Indian Geography. 2nd stage for selection, mains exam is based on the optional subject selected. Detailed syllabus can be collected from UPSC portal.
