How to become an IPS officer after passing B.Com?
Hello, my name is vinita sharma and i am a b.com. final year student, I am intrested to become IPS officer but i don't know the procedure, please guide me. How much percentage require in graduation for IPS officer please guide me i need this.

To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.
To be eligible to apply for IPS Civil Service Exam, the candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness. Apart from this the aspiring IPS candidate should meet the minimum prescribed physical requirement such as:- HEIGHT:- For General Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm. CHEST:- For Male-85cm while Female-79cm expandable to5cm in both the cases. So as you are interested you can apply for Civil Service Exam in the final year B.Com. Degree. The Civil Service exam can be applied through both offline and online mode by paying requisite fees for the exam. To give upsc (IPS) exam you need to complete your graduation Upsc needs only graduation in any stream with any percentage from any university. As you mentioned your qualification as B.com so you are exactly eligible to give any exam under upsc. The Eligibility Criteria for Civil Services Exam are : * You must have completed your graduation from any recognized college/university. * Your age should lie in between 21-30 years. * There is also a relaxation in upper age of 3 years for OBC Students and of 5 years for SC/ST Candidates. * You must have Indian Citizenship. * You must be physically and mentally fit. In order to become an IPS officer you need to write the Civils Exam, conducted by UPSC. The exam consists of the Preliminary Examination and the Mains Examination. If you want to become Indian Police Service (IPS) officer then you will have to appear for the Civil Services Examination. To do so there is requirement of candidate to have a graduation degree.
Apart from the educational criteria it is also important that candidates applying for the Indian Police Service also meets some physical criteria. The physical criteria is required due to nature of work done by the IPS officer. The nature of work include anti terror operations, drug and human trafackkling, VIP security and much more. The officers from the IPS are later selected for R&AW, NIA, IB etc. The forms for the Civil Services Examination are released during the first quarter of the year which is followed by preliminary exam in May/June and main exam in August/September. Eligibility 1. Only Indian nationals are selected for IPS. 2. Any graduation degree is acceptable to appear for Civil Services Exam. 3. There is no percentage criteria. 4. You have to be older than 21 years and less than 30 years to apply. 5. However there is 3 years relaxation for OBC applicant. 6. 5 years relaxation for SC and ST. Ofcourse yes, you can opt for the IPS entrance test as you are a graduate. You also have to meet their physical standards after you have cleared the entrance test. The entrance exam comprises of three sections Preliminary Examination which covers objective type questions, Mains which is subjective type questions and personal interview questions. IPS exam also have some specific physical requirement which are different from rest of the Civil Service exam.
The age limit has to be 21 years minimum till 30 years maximum. Incase of OBCs, it is 33 and 35 for SCs/STs . There are four attempts for general, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. The physical standards are equally important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad is conducted. |

To become police officer you should have first finished your high school education as well as a bachelor's Degree Age :- 21 years should e completed . Selection procedure Entrance exam was conducted by the state police department and after selected candidate from exam they taken to oral test after that short listed candidate are taken to Medical examination then from that they will select the officer. |
