How to become an IPS officer after passing B.Com?


Hello, my name is vinita sharma and i am a b.com. final year student, I am intrested to become IPS officer but i don't know the procedure, please guide me. How much percentage require in graduation for IPS officer please guide me i need this.

To become IPS, you have to appear for Civil Service Exam, conducted by UPSC. This exam is highly competitive because many candidates appeared for this exam every year and the selection rate is also very less for this examination. If you are interested to become IPS, the for this you have registered for UPSC Civil services examination.

Notification are announced in Febrauary in all national dailies for this examination. The examination is conducted in these stages, preliminary and Mains.

Preliminary exam is conducted in May, after getting through this stage, then you can write Mains, which is conducted in Oct. After this comes Interview, This exam is objective as well as subjective. First you have to appear for the Preliminary examination and after cracked this exam, you are eligible for Main examination.

Preliminary examination is totally Objective and there are 2 paper in this examination and both are objective with negative marking, the selection is based on merit. To be eligible for this exam, you must in the age group 21-30 yrs (relaxation for reserved category). Number of attempts are also limited, 4 for general, 6 for OBC, while SC/ST no limit.

So, if your graduation is complete or you are pursuing your final year graduate course then you are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil services examination.

The notification dates for next year examination was already updated in the official website, you can check the official website for dates and after notification you can fill the online application form, There is no offline application form facility is available for any candidates.

So, i suggest you please prepared for this examination from now and first prepared well for Preliminary examination, you can get details of Preliminary examination syllabus from the official websites or previous year Notification and for more information visit UPSC website.

To become an IPS(Indian Police Service) officer one has to apply, appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

To be eligible to apply for IPS Civil Service Exam, the candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate with good Physical Fitness.

Apart from this the aspiring IPS candidate should meet the minimum prescribed physical requirement such as:-

HEIGHT:-

For General Male-165cm and Female-150cm while SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:-

For Male-85cm while Female-79cm expandable to5cm in both the cases.

So as you are interested you can apply for Civil Service Exam in the final year B.Com. Degree. The Civil Service exam can be applied through both offline and online mode by paying requisite fees for the exam.

The selection is through two stages written exam:- CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test which is the Preliminary Exam and then Civil Service Main exam followed by final stage of selection through Personal Interview.

To give upsc (IPS) exam you need to complete your graduation Upsc needs only graduation in any stream with any percentage from any university.
As you mentioned your qualification as B.com so you are exactly eligible to give any exam under upsc.
The following degrees also may eligible to write upsc exam
B.TECH/M.TECH
B.COM/M.COM
B.SC/M.SC
B.A/B.E
B.PHARM

* The Civil Services Exam is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

In order to become an IPS officer you need to write the Civils Exam, conducted by UPSC.

The exam consists of the Preliminary Examination and the Mains Examination.

You need to pass the preliminary exam in order to attempt the mains exam.

After the exams you will be facing an interview after that you can become an IPS Officer.

If you want to become Indian Police Service (IPS) officer then you will have to appear for the Civil Services Examination. To do so there is requirement of candidate to have a graduation degree.

Apart from the educational criteria it is also important that candidates applying for the Indian Police Service also meets some physical criteria. The physical criteria is required due to nature of work done by the IPS officer.

The nature of work include anti terror operations, drug and human trafackkling, VIP security and much more. The officers from the IPS are later selected for R&AW, NIA, IB etc.

The forms for the Civil Services Examination are released during the first quarter of the year which is followed by preliminary exam in May/June and main exam in August/September.


Eligibility

1. Only Indian nationals are selected for IPS.

2. Any graduation degree is acceptable to appear for Civil Services Exam.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. You have to be older than 21 years and less than 30 years to apply.

5. However there is 3 years relaxation for OBC applicant.

6. 5 years relaxation for SC and ST.


Physical Requirements (Female)

Height:

1. Minimum height should be 150 cm.

2. For ST candidates the requirement is 145 Cm.


Chest:

Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm


Vision:

1. 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye

To become an IPS officer you have to appear for the civil services examinaton conducted by UPSC.

IPS stands for Indian Police Services

As you have mentioned that you are a commerce graduate ,then you are surely eligible to write the IPS exam .

The eligibility criteria for the IPS exam are :

1] Nationality : Indian

2] Age :

For General category : 21 to 30 years
For OBC : 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST : 21 to 35 years

3]Educatonal Qualification : A graduate or a degree holder in any discipline from any recognised university .

4] Number of attempts :

For General category :4
For OBC :7
For SC/ST : No limit

To be an IPS you also have to clear through some physical qualification.
They are :

Height :

Male : 165cm
Women : 150cm

There is 5 cm relaxation for both the sex for the SC/ST and OBC categories .

Chest :

Male : 84 cm
Female :79 cm

Ofcourse yes, you can opt for the IPS entrance test as you are a graduate. You also have to meet their physical standards after you have cleared the entrance test. The entrance exam comprises of three sections Preliminary Examination which covers objective type questions, Mains which is subjective type questions and personal interview questions. IPS exam also have some specific physical requirement which are different from rest of the Civil Service exam.
The age limit has to be 21 years minimum till 30 years maximum. Incase of OBCs, it is 33 and 35 for SCs/STs . There are four attempts for general, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. The physical standards are equally important for the job profile and the rigorous training at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad is conducted.

You don't need to worry about the percentage of marks required in Graduation with B.Com.

Because, all the candidates who have completed Graduation with any of the stream are eligible for the position of IPS officer.

CSAT is the common written exam for the candidates to be placed in various civil services like

IPS
IFS etc.

Here is the complete eligibility required to apply for this Exam.

Academic Qualification :

Ofcourse, you are eligible as you are a graduate. Candidates have to score minimum 55 per cent in graduation level. The entrance exam comprises of three sections Preliminary Examination which covers objective type questions, Mains which is subjective type questions and personal interview questions. IPS exam also have some specific physical requirement which are different from rest of the Civil Service exam. Height Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) 160 cm

To become police officer you should have first finished your high school education as well as a bachelor's Degree

Age :- 21 years should e completed .

Selection procedure

Entrance exam was conducted by the state police department and after selected candidate from exam they taken to oral test after that short listed candidate are taken to Medical examination then from that they will select the officer.

Hi i am akhil i passed 10th with 8.0 points means 80% and Inter C.E.C (Commerce Economics Civcs) with 735 marks (73%). I am totally confused for the further step what can i take in Degree please guide me.
