Income Tax Officer post is reputed post.


- For Officers of Group-A level post you have to take UPSC exam.


- All graduate are eligible for this post.


- Age limit: 21-30 years.


- Age for OBC: 21-33 years.


- Age for SC/ST: 21-35 years.


For Income Tax Inspector you have to take SSC CGL exam.


- Eligibility is same: any stream graduation.


- Age limit some different: below 27 years.


- For OBC: below 30 years.


- For SC/ST: Below 32 years.


Selection process:


1. Tier-1 exam.


2. Tier-T exam.


3. Personal interview.


Syllabus for written exam:-


General awareness,


General english,


General intelligence,


Numerical aptitude.

Income Tax officer exam is conducted by the SSB(Staff Selection Commission) once in a year

Eligibility criteria :

The candidate should be complete graduation from a recognised university.

Final year candidates can also be eligible

You must be a citizen of India

The age limits is 18 years to 27 years

3 years upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates

5 years upper age relaxation for the SC/ST candidates

Dear Ajay, to become an incometax officer first of all you have to write graduate level examination which will be conducted by staff selection commission. In n the examination if you qualify you will be absorbed as incometax inspector or tax assistant according to you rank in ssc exam. after words you have to write the departmental examinations which will be conducted by the incometax department. There is no direct recruitmnet for incometax officers.

Is there any chance to do this job (income tax) in home town...

if i pass 12th then what should i do to become income tax exam? if i pass GPSC then i do not become income tax officer

which exam one should clear to get into income tax department? please mark me the whole procedure.
