Hi

You would be glad to know that you are at the perfect junction to appear for this exam which is NDA - National Defense Academy. I would tell you more about it in detail but before that I would want to give you a detailed information about what this exam is all about.

NDA is an Entrance which is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year but twice which are usually in the month's of April and August. So that students can once take part before the results of the board exams and also after the board exams results are out.

There are a few things that you have to consider before you can actually apply for this exam and those are the BASIC ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA :-

--> All the applicants should be unmarried Male Indians.
--> Also the age of those should range between 16.5 to 19 years. So there is a strict age constraint.
--> Must be atleast 12th pass/appeared. No minimum percentage required..
--> Physical and Mental fitness is always a must for this exam as there is a Physical Test which is is to be gone through after clearing the written exam.
--> Also for your information, I must tell you that if you have studied Science stream in your HS, then you are eligible to apply for any of the 3 wings which are Army, Navy and Air Force, but if not and from Commerce or Arts stream, then you can only apply for Army..

As per your query, once you appear for the 12th boards, then its the best time to appear the first time for this exam in April. Since you have missed it, or have appeared for it, you can also appear in the August i.e NDA & NA (II).

The registrations for the same would start from 4th May 2013 and would end on 3rd June 2013. The Exam is scheduled on 11th August 2013. So by then you should be well prepared for this EXAM.

The Exam would consists of two 150 marks each papers. You have to attempt both and it would question you on Elementary Maths, Science subjects and also General Knowledge and English. Also you would be questioned on History of India, Geography and other such general studies. So be prepared accordingly.

If you wish to know more about it, Click Here

Hope this helps
All the best
