You do the higher studies in M.Tech through GATE the provide stipend exam and BHEL,NTPC,IOL recruiting the engineers through the GATE score.

yes there is no doubt in it. Gate will surely help for your masters degree in engineering. GATE exam is based on the subjects that a aspirant has studied in their bachelor degree in engineering. This will widen your knowledge in the field. If you continue in the same field then GATE will surely help you. It is a online exam with negative marks also.

GATE is the short form of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and it is basically an entrance exam which is aimed at selecting the students for the various M.Tech programs in IIT's, NIT's and other colleges in India.


If you want to apply for GATE, then you must satisfy the following Eligibility Criteria's ::


1. You should be a minimum graduate in B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharmacy from a recognized college or university in India.

2. There is no age or attempt limits for GATE.

3. The final years students can apply, but the pre final year students are not eligible to apply for the GATE Exam.



Now as you ask, Yes GATE is the entrance exam for M.Tech only. So yes it would definitely help you to take up M.Tech in some good college in India.

-> Then you would get an All India Rank and a GATE score based on what you would be called for counselling if you crack it.

Hello Neelam...yes definitely GATE will help you in other fields.........many private and public sector companies gives job on seeing the GATE report card.........If you qualify GATE then it will be a plus point in your resume....and GATE qualified student surely get jobs in companies.........

First of all one thing you have to clear that both M.E. and M.Tech. degree are same.Both have the same syllabus.Generally Government universities give the degree of M.E. and private collage/universities give the degree of M.Tech..So after completion of B.Tech one can pursue its M.E. or M.Tech.Both are the same master degree.

As you are a student of Electronics Engineering then after B.Tech you can do any of them.There are so many option/subjects among which you can choose any one in your master degree. These subjects are ....

1. Digital Electronics
2. Antenna
3. Analog Communication
4. Digital Communication
5. Basic Electronics
6. VLSI etc.

The subject which you like most and want to learn and also want to pursue your master degree, you can choose it and make your carrier.
