Re: Will I be exempted from writing UGC exam if I have completed M.Phil(Commerce) 20 years back?
There is exemption only for those who have cleared NET/SLET/SET/CSIR JRF/UGC JRF but there is no exemption for you because you do not fall under any of the category which is mentioned above, but there is relaxation for minimum eligibility marks required to take up the exams.
The minium aggregate marks required to take up exam is 55% (without rounding off) in their master degree. Marks relaxation The Ph.D. degree holders (Completed master degree before 19th Sep 1991) - 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%). 50% marks in case of SC/ST/PH/VH category candidates. |

There is no exemption for anyone unless they have cleared the following exams NET/SLET/SET/CSIR JRF/UGC JRF.
Minimum eligibility aggregrate marks to take up the exam is 55%(without rounding off). But there is a relaxation for some category i.e, those who have PhD degree and completed their post graduation before 1991 will have 5% relaxation i.e., 50%. For SC/ST/PH/VH - 50% aggregrate marks in their post graduation But for general/OBC - 55% |
