Will I get 5 years age relaxation in IES exam?


I m serving in Indian Air Force as non commissioned my rank is carporal
It is a central govt service will i get 5 years age relaxation in IES exam.

The IES exam is conducted by UPSC...

See for this exam the eligibility criterion is given below-

1.you should be an indian citizen

2.you should be between 21-30 years of age.

3.there is age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 5 years of government servicemen..

4.you should have a B.E/B.Tech degree in the notified stream with at least 60% marks.


so as you have mentioned that you are working in the Indian Air-force so you can avail the age relaxation of 5 years , no doubt.

I am defence personnel serving in Indian navy.I have completed AMIE Exam with 57%. I am falling in OBc catagory. shall i eligible for appearing IES with age relaxation of 08 years ie up to age of 38(05 03).

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year.

Those candidate have completed engineering degree with below given department are applicable for IES exam-

1.Civil Engineering
2.Electrical Engineering
3.Mechanical engineering.
4.Electronics and Communication Engineering.

M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts.

Final year student also eligible for IES exam .

The applicant age should between 21 yrs to 30 yrs.

SC/ST = 5 years .
OBC =3 years .
PWD =10 years .
Ex-Servicemen = 5 years .

You are from central govt ex-service men so you are applicable for IES exam with 5 years age relaxation .

Number of attempts for IES exam is for general student it is 4., for OBC it is 7 times. and for SC/ST it is 9 time.

UPSC applications are available for Rs. 20/- in various post offices all over the country. Rs. 100/- through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only shall be attached. There is a fee exemption for SC/ST/Female/PH candidates.

You will only get 5 years age relaxations in the IES exams which is conducted by UPSC if you meet the below conditions which are for the EX-servicemen.

Upto a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as on 1st January, 2013 and have been released :
(i) on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year from 1st January, 2013 ) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency, or
(ii) on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service or
(iii) on invalidment

I had completed my engineering in 5 years with 61%(by adding passing Marks of all the sem.).So am i eligible for IES.

I had completed by Engineering in 5 years with Second Class but if i add the passing marks of all the semesters then i got a aggregate % of 61.So Am i eligible for IES.Does IES counts the passing marks of all the semester.
