Can a girl who have passed class 12 (sci) join either navy or army or air force? And if no, thn after which class are v eligible to join??

No, girls are not allowed to join Indian Army or Navy after completion of 12th standard. Only unmarried Male candidates who have passed 12th standard from a recognised board are eligible to join Indian Army or Navy through NDA examination.

If you are interested to join in Defence Services then, you can join in Officers Training Academy (OTA) through Combined Defence Services (CDS) after completion of your Graduation from a recognised university.

Its very good to see that you are interested to join Indian Army or Navy after completion of your 12th standard being a girl candidate.

But unfortunately, girl candidates are not permitted to join Indian Army or Navy as per Union Public Service Commission guidelines.

Only unmarried Male candidates who have passed 12th standard or an equivalent examination from a Government recognised board are eligible to join Indian Army or Navy.

You are not eligible to join Indian Army or Navy at any stage being a girl candidate. So, I suggest you to pursue your Graduation in any course of your interest and you can join in Officer's Training Academy of Combined Defence Services.

After 10+2, National Defence Academy/Naval Academy examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for selection of candidates into different wings of Defence like Army, Navy and Air Force.

Unmarried female candidates are eligible Combined Defence Services examination for which minimum qualification required is bachelor's degree.

No, girls are not eligible to appear for National Defence Academy and so you are not eligible to join Army, Air Force or Navy.

For girls to join defence service minimum required qualification is bachelor degree to appear for Combined Defence Services entrance examination. The age limit to appear for CDS is different for different wing.

For Army 19-24 years with bachelor degree in any discipline.

For Navy 19-22 years with bachelor degree in Physics/Mathematics or have B.Tech/B.E

For Air Force 19-23 years with bachelor degree in Physics/Mathematics or have B.Tech/B.E.

The examination is conducted in two stages as written and SSB and candidates have to qualify in both stages for final selection. For more updates visit at www.upsc.gov.in.

No girls candidates are not eligible for joining Indian Navy or Indian Army after their Class 12th as for joining defence sector at this stage one needs to join National Defense Academy (NDA) by cracking NDA entrance examination but for the same examination only unmarried Indian male candidate are eligible.

But if you are determined to join Indian Navy or Indian Army then you will have the option of Combined Defense Services ( CDS ) for doing the same. And for appearing in CDS entrance examination you need to fulfill the criteria given below:-

* You must have be an Indian resident.

* Your age must be within 19 years to 22 years for Indian Navy i.e; Naval Academy and within the 19 years to 24 years for Indian Army i.e; Indian Military Academy.

* You must have completed your graduation degree in Physics or Mathematics or Engineering stream for Naval Academy where as for Indian Military Academy there is no compulsion of any particular stream from a recognised university.

No, girls are not allowed to apply for Indian Army or Navy after 12th standard through NDA exam.

Candidate's who have completed the 12th standard from a recognized board or equivalent exam are eligible for NDA exam.

Those candidates who have completed 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics from a recognized bard are eligible for Indian Navy through NDA exam.

Your age should be 16.4 to 19.5 years.

Dear Aspirant,

As of now you cannot join forces. Women can enter forces through Combined Defense Service Exam or through SSB interview notification that occurs more frequently on Employment News. For both the cases, Graduation is the minimum eligibility criteria. So you can complete your graduation first and then try any of these options to reach your dream.
