Hello,
You can join the Navy Logistics division cadre, no matter about your gender but you should have a required physical standard, vision and medical fitness without sea sickness. But you cannot go for the combat/technical role since you are from an arts stream, which is not a qualification, but the science stream in the B.Sc Physics with maths is highly required in the Navy for the signal and communication wings.\

AEC Instructor

1. Education Instructors of Army Educational Corps are recruited to impart educational training to the troops of Indian Army. Recruitment is carried out for the Havildar Education in group`X' in the Science and

2. Educational Qualification. The candidates for enrolment should have working knowledge of either English or Hindi or both and should have graduated with at least two of the following subjects:

(a) BSc. (i) Mathematics (ii) Physics (iii) Chemistry (iv) Botany (v) Zoology (vi) Electronics (vii) Computer Science.

(c) Group `X. BA/ BSc , MA /MSc or BCA/MCA with BEd from a recognised University.

3. Age Limit. The candidate should be in the age group 20 to 25 years at the time of enrolment.

4. Physical Standard. The physical standards are the same as applicable for enrolment in the regular Army.

5. Pay and Allowances. The pay and allowances for the Group `X' recruits are Rs. 2850/-per month during training and Rs 5000-100-6500(revised pay scale) per month on completion of training.

6. Terms of Enrolment. The individual will be enrolled for a period of 20 years with colour service and 3 years in reserve or till they attain 47 years of age, whichever is earlier.


Mode of Recruitment

7. Screening. Screening of the candidates is carried out as per the programme issued by Recruiting Offices.

8. Written Examination. Only those candidates selected in the screening are permitted to appear for the written examination which is conducted at Recruiting Offices. The written examination consist of one

composite paper of three hour duration, composed of the following parts:

(a) Part I. Compulsory for all candidates . It will consist of Section A on General English and Section B on General Knowledge both of class XII standard.

(b) Part II. (Science of B. Sc. Standard ) Compulsory for MSc/BSc candidates. This part is further sub-divided into four sections covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates will be

required to attempt questions from atleast two sections.

(c) Part III. (Humanities of BA standard) Compulsory for MA/BA candidates. This part is further sub-divided into four sections covering History, Geography, Economics and Political Science. Candidates will

be required to attempt questions from atleast two sections. MA/BA candidates with Mathematics may attempt questions from Mathematics section of Part II and atleast one more section of Part III.

4. Physical standards

Height and Weight Minimum height for male – 157 cms and for female – 152 cms with correlated weight.

Eye Sight 6/36, 6/36 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind.

Short Service Commission

5. Short Service Commission is granted for a period of 10 years extendable to 14 years subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extent rules. Disciplined life, leadership qualities and professional skills imbibed during the service would stand as an added advantage in acquiring second career post exit from the Navy.

Selection Procedure
7. (a) The candidates will be issued call up for Services Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in Degree Course. No communication will be entertained on this account. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) [IHQ-MoD (Navy)] reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cut off percentage without assigning any reason. No communication will be entertained on this account.
(b)SSB interviews for short listed candidates will be scheduled during Jan 07 to Jul 07 at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore.
(c) The total duration of SSB interviews is of 5 days, consisting Stage I (Day one) and Stage II (Four days) Stage I Tests consist of Intelligence Tests. Picture Perception and Group Discussion Tests Candidates who fail to quality in Stage I will be routed back on the same day from SSB centre, Stage II Tests consist of Psychological Tests, Group Task Tests and Interview. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Special Medical Examination at the same venue (approx duration 3-5 days).
(d) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. The confirmation in the service is subject to satisfactory Police Verification Report and Character & Antecedent Certificate.
(e) Change of SSB centre for interview is not permissible under any circumstances.
(f) Any correspondence regarding change of SSB dates should be addressed to the President of the SSB on receipt of call up letter and copy endorsed to Directorate of Manpower Planning & Recruitment (R&R), Room No.204, ‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, IHQ-MOD(N), New Delhi – 110011 (Fax No.011-23011282).
(g) No compensation will be paid in respect of any injury sustained as a result of tests.
(h) Return 2nd Class Sleeper rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview, if appearing for the first time for the entry.

Training
8. The training is scheduled to commence in Aug 2007.
9. Candidates will be inducted as officers in the rank of Sub Lieutenant and undergo Naval Orientation Course at the Naval Academy, followed by professional training at various Naval Training Establishments/Units/Ships. Full pay and allowances are admissible to the officers whilst undergoing training. They will be on probation for a period of two years from the date of reporting to the Naval Academy or the date of commencement of training whichever is later, during which they are liable to be discharged if their performance is unsatisfactory.
10. Any candidate who is found to be married or marries while undergoing training will be discharged. He/she shall be liable to refund full pay & allowances drawn by him/her and any other expenditure incurred on him/her by the Government.

Duties of Logistics Officer

11. As a Logistics Officer you will be dealing with the Logistics aspects of men & material. The Logistics Officer plays a vital role in the human aspect of the Ship`s organization. A modern warship, irrespective of its role, needs a continuous supply of fresh provisions, fuel and spares for the vast array of sophisticated equipment and machinery. You as a Logistics Officer will be responsible for smooth supply of stores. In no other career does an officer get exposed to such a wide spectrum of opportunities to keep abreast of modern and latest development in the field of management & finance. Life in the Navy is full of challenges and adventures. after ur graduation there will be an exam u have to clear it then u will be directly recruited as an officer......

Hello,

It is good to know that you are interested to join the navy.
However, girl candidates cannot join the navy directly after 12th, but during graduation(engineering) for a short service commission(SSC).

Details are attached. However you must be an engineering student, therefore it is not possible for you to join the navy as you are a commerce student.

1)NDA & Naval Academy Exams For Admissions to the Army, Navy and The Air Force Wings after 10+2

2)recruitment as Sailors in Indian Navy.

2.)SSC Logistics Cadre

Age Limit-19½ - 25 Years
Educational Qualification- B.A (Economics), B.Com or B.Sc (Physics and Maths) or BSc(IT), CA/ ICWA, Catering Technology or

For women to join Defense forces the eligibility is

** Graduate
** unmarried status
** Age 21-25 years
