You have to clear Bihar Public Service Commission exam to become a Bihar Police Service officer. Graduation is the minimum qualification required for this exam. You have the Graduation means you can definitely apply for this exam and make sure that you have got your degree from a recognized university.

The age limit for this examination is 21 to 30 years. There is age relaxation for reserved category candidates.

The selection is based on the performance in the competitive examination and it will have following stages.

1. Preliminary Exam
2. Mains Exam
3. Interview
4. Medical Examination

One can join Bihar Police Service through BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission) exam. BPSC conducts Combined Competitive Exam to make recruitment for various posts in different departments of Bihar state .

Eligibility criteria to apply for BPSC exam are as under:-

-The candidate should possess a Graduate degree or equivalent from a recognized University.

-The age limit to apply for BPSC exam is in from 20 years to 37 years. Relaxation in the age is provided according to the categories as per the government norms.

-Bihar Public Service Commission exam is conducted in two stages namely:

Preliminary examination-It is an objective type examination.

Main examination-It is a written exam or subjective type examination.

The candidates who pass in preliminary exam and main examination can attend the Personal Interview.

There are three subjects that are compulsory and two subjects are optional in BPSC exam.

Compulsory subjects are;

General Knowledge,

English,and

Mathematics.

The candidate may choose any two subjects from the following as their optional subject for BPSC exam:

Mechanical Engineering

Physics

Chemistry

Civil Engineering

Geology

Statistics

Zoology

Economics

Agriculture

For open category: Rs. 400/- and

For SC/ST Candidates : Rs. 175/-
