Having a good height is a definite requirement to join Indian Army as an Officer. Medical fitness is the uppermost criteria in any Indian Army officer's job. There is no place for any sort of relaxation when it comes to Indian Defence jobs.

After 12th class you can apply for NDA examination which is conducted by UPSC. You can apply for NDA exam two times in a year. Any stream 10+2 candidates can apply for NDA examination.

Those who want to join Indian Air Force or Naval Academy through NDA exam, then they must take physics, chemistry and maths in their 10+2.

The selection in NDA will be based on the following stages and you have to perform excellently in these stages.

1. Written Exam
2. SSB Interview
3. Medical Examination

For more information on medical fitness such as height and weight for officer and non-officer posts please go through this document Indian Army Eligibility Criteria
