Hello sir, I have completed BE and ME Computer Science and now want to become a Lecturer. Please tell me what should I do for it? How to prepare for it? List of extra subjects will I have to study?

If you want to become a lecturer in government school/ colleges then you must have following eligibility conditions.

A bachelor's degree in respective discipline from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks.

A master's degree in relevant discipline in which you have completed your bachelor's degree or any other subject you chosen with minimum 55% marks.

Candidate must have qualified in NET - National Eligibility Test conducted by UGC - University Grants Commission every single year in batches means a valid scorecard of NET test given by UGC.

If you have above mentioned qualification then you can become lecturer in government sector when the vacancy declares you should fill up application form with required details then your test will declare whether you are eligible for the post or not.

Now you have to prepare for NET test which is conducted by UGC so visit the official website of UGC for more details about this test and start preparation.

There will be two papers conducted in this test which are paper I and paper II and paper I will be based on general aptitude, teaching aptitude, research, reading comprehension, logical reasoning, mathematics, data interpretation, environment and higher education in India.

Paper II will be based on the subject of specialisation of your master's degree which you have chosen to be specialised in that is why you have to take care of everything and be prepared very well for both papers.

If you clear NET test then you will be eligible to apply for Lecturer in government schools, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in Government colleges that is why you should prepared well for this exam.

After clearing this test if you complete M.Phil and PhD degree under the guardianship of a very good professor then you can become professor in government colleges so there is huge scope of teaching in both ways so you have a great career ahead just start preparation for this exam.
