I am in my 2nd year of Bsc IT..what job can i get if i wish to join the indian military service?

Pre-final year candidates are not eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy Examination. To apply for examination, the candidate have to completed degree course. If you are appearing or appeared than definitely you are eligible to apply.

You can join Indian Military Examination through Combined Defence Service(CDS) Commission which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission. The examination will conducted couple of times in a calendar and it is called as CDS I and CDS II. The examination is conducted for admission to Indian Military Academy, Naval Academy, Indian Air Force and Officer Training Academy Examination.

Military Academy :: Three year degree course in any stream like Science or Commerce or Arts from a reputed Institution or University. Those who are pursing in the final year of degree course may also eligible to apply. There is no limitation of attempts to the examination. Any number of times you can appear for this examination within the framed age limits by UPSC. Minimum age to apply 19 years and Maximum age to apply 25 years.

NCC Special Entry Scheme :: Three year degree course in any stream like Science or Commerce or Arts from a reputed Institution or University with 50% Marks in aggregate of all the semesters. Those who are pursing in the final year of degree with 50% Marks in last two years course may also eligible to apply. There is no limitation of attempts to the examination. Any number of times you can appear for this examination within the framed age limits by Indian Army. NCC B Grade Certificate is mandatory while appearing for this examination.

I appreciate your willingness toward join in Indian Military jobs.As you are right now in the Second year B.Sc IT,you are not eligible to apply for this exam in this year.So you need to wait for one more year.For this Indian Military exams to be eligible you must have at least completed your Bachelor Degree or else Graduation from any stream.

To join Indian Military field,you need to write an entrance exam called “Combined Defense Services”exam which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.This CDS conducts exam for recruiting into the various posts such as Naval Academy,Officer’s Training Academy,Air Force academy and Indian Military Academy.

So you may go for the Indian Military Academy posts with the qualification.The basic educational qualification required is degree from a recognized university.The minimum age must be 19 years ,and the upper age must not exceed the 24 years.The other way to join Military is to write National Defense Academy.

For this the minimum age required is 16.5 years and the upper age limit is 19 years.Since you are not in the age limits you can not apply for the NDA exam for joining Indian Military.So you have only one option to write CDSE (Combined Defense Services Examination).

This CDS exam notification will be announced in the months of August and March.The examination will be there by conducted in the months of February and August months.So since you are still in the Second year B.SC you are right now not eligible for the exam.So you need to wait for this year,then in the coming you can apply for the exam to join Indian Military.Final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to write the exam,since with this same formula you can apply for the exam in next year(when you pursue third year).

Actually , there are many jobs in Indian Military for those who have completed Graduation.

1) You can apply for the post of NCC MEN(If you are male) or NCC WOMEN (if you are female) in Army.


2) You can apply for the CDS exam to join in Military .
cds stands for combined defence service exam .

Age shouldbe in between 19-24 years to join in Army through cds exam
Age shouldbe in between 19-25 years to join in ota (officers training academy) through
cds exam
You shouldbe a citizen of india

The exam will be held twice in every year by UPSC.
