Dear sir, i am sadashiba ratha Sharma, i have interested in defence service, especially in Indiam military, but my educational qualification is +2 arts with 50%, thus i want to know that is it possible for me to join in indian military acadamy

Sir,Its not possible to join in an Indian Military.U must scored a minimum percentage of 60 in a degree.Now Your plan is to apply for the UPSC-CDS entrance examination,Its online sample question paper will be available in a website.

Yes you can give the NDA Exam now to join defense.

N.DA. ----National Defense Academy

NDA Exam is conducted twice every year as NDA-1 And NDA-2.this exam is conducted by UPSC which is union public service commission for the recruitment in the three defense services of India namely--->

• Millitary academy
• Naval academy
• Airforce academy

But to apply for this exam you need to fulfill the Eligibility criteria mentioned below--

Eligibility criteria


~~You should Complete 12th standard in any discipline from recognized university to apply for ARMY.

~~ You should complete 12th standard in science with Physics and maths to apply for NAVY and Airforce

~~ Your age should be 16.5 years to 19 years to apply for this inclusive of upper limits of age,but no relaxation provided.

~~female candidates are not eligible for NDA

~~UNMARRIED Male candidates can apply.


can I apply with arts having 50%?

yes,you can surely apply if you are a male and unmarried candidate .There is no Minimum percentage of marks require for NDA Examination . Any candidate who get pass marks in 12th board Examination may eligible to apply for the Examination .

The Indian Army ha several branches & posts.Based on the requirements of these posts & several other criterias,you can enter the defense service.There are job applications and news of available posts in the army published in all daiy newspaper as advertisements from time to time with the mention of the required criterias.you can apply for any of those posts based on whether you are fulfilling the metioned requirements.after this you will have to pass a medical exam and a written exam(most probably) and if you pass through these exam,may well gain entry in the defense service.

With the above mentioned educational qualification, you can join Indian Army through
N.D.A.&N.A. examination only.

You must also satisfy the the age criteria which is 16.5 to 19 years.

The exam is conducted twice a year generally.

The questions in the examination come from Mathematics of 12th Std., English and
General Science (12th Std.) General Awareness.

You can refer one previous notification of the exam for exact syllabus of the exam.
(Refer the attachment)

As you are an arts stream student so it could be difficult for you to complete the Maths.
and science of +2 level so you should take help from some coaching.

you can go with the NDA Examination....

NDA stands for National Defence Academy, this examination is conducted in yearly twice

Eligibility Criteria for NDA is :- you must complete your 10+2 from any recognised university, mathematics one of the subject in 10+2 is must.

and your age between 16.5 to 19 years, otherwise you are eligible for this..

and you are must be citizen of india

only unmarried male candidates are eligible for this examination

After 12th you can join Indian Army through appearing NDA entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II.

To be eligible for NDA(National Defence Academy) one must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical and Mental fitness.

To be eligible for Indian Military Academy you have to apply, appear and crack CDS(Combined Defence Service) entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year.

To be eligible For Indian Military Academy of CDS, one must be an unmarried Indian male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years with good Physical Fitness.

Both the exams are through written exam followed by personal interview along with Physical Fitness and Medical Test.

After 12th standards , there is an examination, NDA (NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY) EXAMINATION, this examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for two times in a year.
Final years of INTERMEDIATE CANDIDATES are also eligible for the NDA examination.

Through the NDA examination, one can apply for the-

* INDIAN AIR FORCE (IAF),
* INDIAN NAVAL ACADEMY (NA) ,
* INDIAN MILITARY ACADEMY (IMA)

For being eligible for the IAF & NA . you must have subjects PHYSICS & MATHS in 10+2. Also you must have scored at least 60% in 10+2 .
Otherwise, you can only apply for the IMA ,. So, you are eligible for the IMA.

You are a 12th arts student, so you can only apply for the IMA.

The age limit for the NDA exam is 16.5-19 years.
There is not any kind of age limit relaxations criteria is applicable for the any reserved categories.

You must have Indian nationality.

You must have Marital status unmarried,.

yes you can with 60% in last year..age limit is 24 years

Hello, sir i am dev joshi .I gave n.d.a exam but i was not qualified . In 12th i got 52% now i want to join army so what i do . Please give instruction.
