How to join Indian Military Academy

There are Different ways to join IMA Dehradun. its a Sub stage to get into Armed Forces. IMA is a Training academy where Graduates, NDA candidates treated One year heavily to boost their physical stamina.

Could you also tell me the minimum qualification required for a candidate to make entry into Millitary?

To Get into IMA you have ample to Entries.

After 10+2

Through NDA :- if you clear the NDA Exam and your Preference is Army then you will be treated 3 years in NDA Khadakwasla , Pune then One year in IMA Dehradun.

After Graduation If you take Engineering Degree as your Graduation, then you can have

Through UES i.e University Entry Scheme in Army Final and Pre Final year Students can apply for this, if you clear SSB , then you will be treated One Year in IMA.

Through CDSE i.e Combined Defense Service Examination. Final year Students can write this. You can opt Air Force , Army or Navy , if you select Army and clears SSB then you will be Entered into IMA directly for One year Training.

Through SSC or TGC i.e Short Service Commission and Technical Graduate Scheme. Final year Technical Graduate can apply for both the Entries and Procedure is same as Above i.e One year IMA if selected in SSB (Service Selection Board.)

There are many ways to join military academy.

You can join military academy after senior sec. and also after graduation.

After 10+2 There is a direct entary scheme to enter into military academy.

for this you need minimum qualification 10+2 with 70% marks in PCM.

If you want to join military academy after graduation then you will need to pass a test.

IMA can be joined only through following means

like NDA,CDSE

University Entry scheme

etc.

if you are doing +2 then you should appear for NDA

if you are enggineering student CDSE is your way

for general graduation you should try for UES

The Indian Military Academy is one of the world’s finest military training school. Almost all the cadets joining the military will have to undergo training in IMA at some point of time of their career. There are lots of ways of getting into the Army. If you have not completed your plus 2, then you can join the army as a soldier. If you have completed your +2, then there are two ways of getting into the army. You can join the N.D.A after writing the UPSC exam. You can also apply directly to the IMA with your 12th marks. After graduation too you can join the Indian Army. For IMA you need to be graduate qualified and wait for june when forms comes out and can apply for it

Indian Military Academy can be joined through various ways according to one's qualification and eligibility:-

NDA
CDS
UES
TGE

NDA-NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year. One can apply NDA to join Indian Army after 12th in any stream within the age of 16.5 to 19 years. Only male unmarried candidate can apply for NDA.

CDS-COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE exam conducted by UPSC twice every year. One can join Indian Military Academy by appearing through the entrance exam of CDS. Unmarried Indian National having Graduation Degree in any discipline within the age of 19 to 22 years.

UES-UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME, through this any Graduate can join Indian army within the age 19 to 25 years.

TGE-TECHNICAL GRADUATE ENTRY, through this scheme Graduate engineers can join Indian Army within the age of 19 to 25 years.

cds stands for combined defence service . the cds examination is

conducted by the upsc union public service commission of india .the

examination of cds is divided into four division namely ,

>>Indian military academy {IMA}

>>Air force academy {AFA}

>>Navy academy {NA}

Indian Military Academy :

>>you should be qualified in under graduation any stream { ie : science or arts or commerce } from recognized university .

>>you age should be 19 years to 24 years .

Navy Academy :

>>You should be qualified in under gradation course in science or engineering stream { ie : physics , chemistry , biology , mathematics } from recognized university .

>>your age should be 19 to 22 years

Air force :

>>You should be qualified in under graduation in science or engineering stream from recognized university .

>>Your age should be 19 years to 23 years

You can apply for the NDA exam to join Indian Military Academy
Before applying for the NDA exam to join Indian Military , You should know the Eligiblity criteria of the exam
Eligiblity criteria : -
>>The candidates should have completed 12th with PCM as main subjects
>> The candidate's age should be between 16.5 to 19 years
>> The candidate must be a citizen of india
>> The candidates must be an Unmarried Male candidate
The exam (NDA exam) will Helds Two times in every year
The exam will conduct by UPSC
The notification for the Exam will releases in the months of April or May and in October
Selection process : -
1. Written exam
2. SSB Interview
3. Medical test
There is no Restriction in Number of attempts for the exam
The candidate can apply for the exam as many times as he want . But , the candidate's age should be between 16.5 to 19 years only
Exam Syllabus : -
1. General Ability - 600 marks
2. Maths - 300 marks

Have no more than two dependents.
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude test. (Minimum AFQT Score: 40)


Army
Be between the ages of 17-34. *
Have no more than two dependents.
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude test. (Minimum AFQT Score: 31)

Coast Guard

Be between the ages of 17- 39*
Have no more than two dependents.
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test. (Minimum AFQT Score:45)
Have a willingness to serve on or around the water

Marines

Meet exacting physical, mental, and moral standards.
Be between the ages of 17-29. *
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test. (Minimum AFQT Score: 32)
Women are eligible to enlist in all occupational exception of combat arms specialties: infantry, tank and amphibian tractor crew members.

Navy

Be between the ages of 17-34. *
Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. (Minimum AFQT Score: 35)
Women are eligible to enlist in all occupational fields, with the exception of serving in the Navy Seals or on submarines.
