Good afternoon Sir/Mam,

I didn't apply for gate exam sir, so I have any chances to get job in public sector. What is the steps which we need to follow for that? It will be helpful if you can provide me the information soon as possible. please help me.......

GATE in not mandatory to get the government jobs. What important is to complete your graduation from a recognized university & you must be not more than 30 years old. There are so many government jobs available which you can apply but only when they publish the notification. Buy Employment news from any paper vendor shop. GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Yes, it is true that many of PSUs recruit candidates on basis of GATE scorecard. But there are certain PSUs which conduct their own entrance exam and you can apply for entrance exam of those PSUs.

>>NPCIL entrance examination.

>>BARC entrance examination.

>>Airport Authority of India Entrance examination.

Some other entrance exams for you are Indian Engineering Services exam, Civil Services examination, CDS exam etc for jobs in government sector.

You can get jobs in government sector even though you don't qualify in GATE exam but you can't get job in Public Sector Companies.

For getting government jobs you need to write entrance exams and qualify that exam.

Yes, it is possible to get a government job without GATE score. But only few organizations, recruits without GATE score. These organizations recruits through separate examinations. The list of such companies are given below;

GATE is not compulsory for all government sector jobs as well as in private sector jobs. Both have some criteria of selection of job process. you could see as respective.

It is not necessary to appear and qualify in GATE examination for getting jobs but if you need t get jobs in PSU'S you must have to qualify in GATE or examination conducted by respective PSU'S.

So, if you don't have appeared for GATE you can appear for next year as there is no age limit or maximum number of attempts to appear for examination.

So, after qualifying in examination eligible for the jobs.

In recent years, Public Sector Undertakings have started to give importance of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE qualified candidates with top ranks are directly shortlisted for Group Discussion and interview.

*PSUs like IOCL, NTPC, ONGC etc have GATE criteria. But there are certain PSUs in which separate entrance examination is conducted for recruitment.

*PSUs like NPCIL, BARC, ISRO, AAI, BEL conducts its own entrance exam. You can apply for entrance exams of these PSUs and clear exams to get job in it. One of the most suitable exam for engineers is Indian Engineering Services exam.

If you want an engineering job according to your stream then GATE qualifying is extremely essential. Without GATE it is very difficult to get job in a PSU based on engineering degree.

There are other options also like UPSC engineering services exam, IAS exam, Bank PO specialist officer etc, but selection will be on the basis of written exam and interview.
