Procedure to Join CDS after Graduation:

To join Combined Defense Services, you are required to first meet the required eligibility criteria given by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The basic educational qualification required to be eligible for appearing in CDS Examination is "Graduate Degree or Bachelor Degree" from a recognized university. Since you have completed Graduation, I am sure you are eligible to join CDS when your age is in between 19 to 24 years. There is nothing like Male and Female as everyone is equal as far as CDS norms are concerned and candidates who ever successfully clears the selection process one by one can join CDS. There are many streams available in CDS namely, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Indian Military Academy. You are now required to give preference as per your interests and educational qualification. Make sure you secure good marks in Written Examination, Interview and Medical Test in CDS Services in order to join CDS. Remember, seats are alloted only on the basis of Merit; so I suggest you to apply for CDS Examination and plan accordingly in order to top the cadre.

The process for girls to join Combined Defense Services is very simple. As you have done bachelor's degree, you are already eligible in terms of academic qualification for the exam.

The age limit for different academies under CDS is:

~~Indian Military academy: 19-24 years.

~~Indian Naval academy: 19-22 years.

~~Officer's Training academy: 19-25 years.

~~Air force Academy: 19-23 years.

After fulfilling the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the CDS exam at www.upsconline.nic.in. You can visit the UPSC official website for latest notification www.upsc.gov.in. You need to appear for the exam which consists of written test and SSB and must clear to join any of the above mentioned academies.

CDS offers candidates to join in various defence forces of India such as:

• Indian Military academy
• Indian Navy
• Indian Air Force
• Officer Training Academy

There are certain specific criteria's for the respected forces and they are listed below for your reference:

# Candidate should have a citizenship in India.

For IMA&OTA:

# Candidate should have 19-24 years of age.

# Should have completed a degree from a recognized university.

For Indian Navy:

# Candidate should have completed 19-22 years.

# Qualification needed is Engineering degree.

For IAF:

# Age limit needed is 19-23 years

# Candidate should have completed a degree with Physics and Mathematics as subjects.

# Apart from all these candidate need to be physically fit.

Procedure for girls to join CDS after graduation is as same as for boys.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Examination, it is held twice a year for the recruitment of officers in Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

Age Limit :

19-24 Years for Indian Military Academy
19-22 Years for Naval Academy
19-23 Years for Air Force Academy
19-25 Years for Officers’ Training Academy

Educational Qualification :

For IMA and OTA : Candidate must have degree from a recognised university.
For Naval Academy : Candidate must have B.Sc with Physics or Mathematics.
For Air Force Academy : Candidate must have B.Sc with Physics or Mathematics or B.E./B.Tech.

Candidate have to apply online on http://upsc.gov.in.

After completion of application procedure, candidate have to appear for written exam of 300 marks. Candidates who have passed written exam have to go through SSB Interview of 300 marks.
After passing SSB Interview, candidates have to go through a medical test and she will be selected.
