I just entered in final year of civil engineering in b.tech .i want to do government job after b.tech and i also want to do higher study in bes colleges like iits.this can be done by gaining good marks in gate examination.so,how i can gain good marks in gate exams without coaching.

The best way for a B.Tech engineer to get a government job is through GATE. Those who qualify GATE with an excellent score have good chance of getting a PSU job.

In addition to GATE you can apply for exams like UPSC Engineering services exam. There are specialist officers job in PSU bank for B.Tech engineers. You have many options but you need to be very well prepared for the exams.

You have completed B.Tech degree in Civil engineering so you are eligible for government jobs. So you can apply for WBCS and IES exam. If you have cleared written exam and interview then you will get government jobs.

If you have completed graduation in any discipline from recognized university then you are eligible for WBCS exam. Final year student are eligible for WBCS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 years to 32 years for general candidates.

Age relaxation is given below -

5 years relaxation for SC/ST candidates
3 years relaxation for OBC Candidates
10 years relaxation for PHC candidates
5 years relaxation for Ex-serviceman

The WBCS selection process is consist in three way-

1)Preliminary exam(This Exam is based on Objective type Question Paper)
2)Main exam (This Exam is subjective type)
3)Inter view.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service examination.

If you have completed bachelor engineering degree course then you are eligible to apply for IES Examination but your written exam subjects are -CIVIL, MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING. You can choose any one subject from above mentioned subject. M.Sc Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering are also eligible for IES Exam. Final year student are also eligible for IES exam.

The applicant age should be in between 21 to 30 years.

SC/ST = 5 years
OBC =3 years
PWD =10 years
Ex-Servicemen = 5 years
