My son secured 86% marks in 10+2 non-medical of HP board and CRL Rank 240572 in JEE main 2017 and son is interested to take admission for B.Tech course in reputed government engineering college/reputed college/university. Please advise. Thanks.

Sorry to inform you that with 240572 rank in JEE Main 2017 examination, it is quite no possible to get government engineering college to pursue engineering courses.
With regret I have to say that this rank is not good enough to get any reputed engineering college, however I would advise you to appear for counselling.

With a rank of 240572, your son can get admission in some private college, but it will be not be one of the top or reputed colleges. It will be difficult to get a decent college with this rank without donation or management quota.

If interested in any college, then you can take admission through counselling, because these days most of the seats remain vacant in engineering colleges.

To get admission in reputed B.Tech colleges for pursuing your higher studies, you should have secured good rank in JEE Main examination. Since, you have secured 240572 rank in JEE Main examination, you can't get admission in reputed B.Tech colleges for pursuing your higher studies.

In JEE exam 240572 is not good rank . With this rank you are not eligible to get admission in top reputated colleges in india. I will suggest you to preapre again for JEE but if you are not having any attempts then wait for your counseling and take any state level good private college.
