Whether 50% average of 3 years Graduation is counted to apply for CAT?
Hi,
It is said that to write CAT, 50% score is required in Graduation. Is that 50% be computed as an average of all the 3 years score or only the third year score will be taken into account? |

CAT Examination is conducted once in a year for admission in top B-Schools of India.
After qualifying CAT, you can take admission in Indian Institute of Management. For applying CAT you should have Graduation with 50% which means your Aggregation of your 3 yrs must be more than 50%. Eligibility criteria: - You should have done your graduation from a recognized university. You should have secured at least 50% in your graduation, 5% relaxation in the required graduation percentage for SC/ST/PH students. There is no age limit to appear in this test. If you are from General Category and not eligible to give CAT, you can appear for Management Aptitude Test (MAT). Because there is no minimum percentage required to be eligible to give this test. |

Yes, the average marks in graduation is calculated on all the 3 year basis of graduation of any candidate willing to apply for CAT examination.

Re: Whether 50% average of 3 years Graduation is counted to apply for CAT?
To be eligible to apply for CAT examination, the candidate must have completed Bachelor's degree with an aggregate of at least 50% (45% for SC/ST candidates) marks from a recognised university. If your Graduation course is of 3 years duration, then you must have to secure at least 50% aggregate marks in your Graduation course. So, if you have secured 50% marks in your three years Graduation course, you are eligible to apply for CAT examination.

CAT stands for Common Admission Test.
For applying in CAT, a candidate must have scored minimum of 50% marks in Graduation in aggregate from a recognized University. So, it is clear from the above sentence that the percentage required is in aggregate of 3 years of the course rather than the final year percentage. |
