What is the age limit for doing Ph.D in English literature? Can someone please give me the complete information on the same? Awaiting for the answer soon!

Age limit for Ph.D in English literature :

Age of candidate must be above 20 years.
There is no upper age limit for pursuing Ph.D in English literature.

There is no age limit for the course of PhD.
PhD is a research oriented course and there is no age limit that is set by any University for the course of PhD.
You just need to do some original research work to be awarded with the PhD Degree.
So you need not worry about the age limit and once you can clear the Entrance Examinations for the course of PhD you will be able to pursue the course of PhD.

There is no upper age limit for PH.D admission in India. If you have the qualification and experience then you can surely get admission at any stage of your life. Recently, a man in India got PH.D at the age of 82 years.

Hence, don't worry about your age and try to boost your qualification by qualifying exams like NET/SET/JRF which will help you to get admission in a top university.

You have completed MA in English so you are eligible for Ph.D in English Literature but you should qualify in UGC NET exam.

NET stands for National Eligibility Test which is conducted twice time in year by UGC.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university are eligible for NET exam. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

Age criteria for NET exam:-

For JRF Post :-Your age should be below 28 years.

For Lectureship Post :-There is no age criteria.

No such age limit required for PhD in English literature. Those who satisfy the educational qualification are eligible to apply for PhD in English literature.

The following eligibility is needed to pursue for PhD in English literature:

- Applicants with at least 55 aggregate percent marks in Master degree can apply for this course. Final year students are also eligible to apply.

- There is no minimum age limit required.

- An entrance exam is also required. The applicant either qualify in the UGC NET exam or entrance exam conducted by the respective university.

There is no age limit for doing PhD in English literature. The same criteria apply for all the PhD courses. The candidate must have completed post graduation in English with 55% marks from the recognized university. The duration of the course is 2 to 5 years. The admission in PhD program will be based on the scores obtained in the UGC NET examination.
