I have done PGDM in distance mode from Welingkar Institute of Management and now want to do PhD. Can do PhD from Mumbai University? How to get admission?

I am very sorry to say that you are not eligible to opt for the Ph.D course since you have done PGDM course which is not equivalent to Post Graduate course.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management is not a Post Graduation course.
The basic educational requirement for Ph.D course is to complete Post Graduation in the respective field.
Candidates those who have completed their Post Graduation in the relevant field from a recognized University with a minimum of 55% of marks in it are eligible to opt for the Ph.D course in the same.

PGDM is not a degree qualification and it will be difficult to get admission in Ph.D without a masters degree. Hence, you must have any certificate which states that your PGDM is equivalent to a masters degree.

Admission in Ph.D will be on the basis of performance in the entrance exam and interview conducted by the concerned university or institution.

The basic eligibility criteria for candidates, who are willing to enroll for the PhD courses, should have completed master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognized university. However, candidates having Post Graduate Diploma degree can also apply for PhD courses, as some university consider PGDM equivalent to master's degree course like MBA.
Admission to PhD courses is granted to various colleges through common entrance test namely PET/UGC-NET/CSIR/ICAR.
After qualifying the entrance test, follow this process:
>Applicants who have passed the entrance test or have been exempted are required to apply in prescribed format.
>A demand draft of Rs 100/- needs to be paid to the concerned recognized research center/college within 15 days of the declaration of the result.
>Head of the department will call candidates for an interview based on application.
>The list of eligible candidates will be displayed by the board.

Can I do PHD after completing correspondance pgdm from welingkar institute?
