It is solely up to you and on which topic you want to do your research on.
You need to consult your guide once you are selected for the course of PhD and he will be the best person to advice you regarding the topic and subject on which you want to do your PhD.
It also depends on the area of your interest. This is what you should do to decide on the topic on which you should do your PhD.
