If an aspirant want to pursue Ph.D from IITs or IISCs, they must have to complete their Masters degree in the relevant field from a recognized University. Aspirants must score a minimum of 55% of marks in the relevant examination. After qualifying in the Masters degree, aspirants need to appear in the entrance examinations like GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-NET etc. qualifying in which they can get admission to pursue Ph.D course in IITs or IISCs.
Once qualified in the examination, they can opt for the course of Ph.D from IITs.

After completing Ph.D course, one can join research field in their relevant field. You can become a Lecturer in Colleges and Universities. You can apply for different Government jobs also.
