How much percent deduction is there in ESI against salary in an MNC?


Hi Friends, I have newly joined an MNC company as an Associate. I have got my payslip in which there is a deduction of ESI. I just want to know that how much percentage of salary they deduct in ESI?

ESI contribution is deducted form the gross salary at 1.75% and rest is contributed by the employer itself. Those who have salary above 15000 or below 21000, have to contribute for ESI.

Hence, its not much because its for your benefit only. It can even help you save tax in future.
