Sir, I have done M.A economics from private. I want to do Ph.D in economics from private. How can I do it? From where can I do it? I am doing job in railways and I don’t have regular degree? Please could you help me out?

You have done M.A in Economics so you are eligible for Ph.D course.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree in Economics from a recognized university then you are eligible for Ph.D course. General and OBC candidates should hold 55% and above marks in masters degree. For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

You must have valid UGC NET score card.

There is no age criteria.

The eligibility will be post graduation with 60% marks.

There will be an entrance examination for the admission.

The PhD programme is available in many universities.

You have to contact the University for Course and the guide availability.

You can do the PhD course in any one of the university below:

- IGNOU www.ignou.ac.in/,

- Gauhati University www.gauhati.ac.in,

Along with you r PG degree you need to have scored a 55% at your PG level and should clear NET/SLET/JRF/GATE exam, in order to get admission in Ph.D.
