Sir, My child Dob is 10/07/2004, can he be eligible for admission in class IX of CBSE affiliate school in the year 2017-18? Can you please let me know the complete details of the same? What should be the procedure followed to get the admission? Thanks!

For admission in class 9th, one has to pass in class 8th from a recognized school and must have TC from the previous school.

Admission at most of the reputed schools is based in merit and they have different process to decide the merit for selection.

In order to join 9th standard, you should have completed your 8th standard from a recognized board. You should have completed the age of 14 years at the time of admission in 9th standard. However, candidates who are below 14 years can also apply for admission in 9th standard. You can contact the respective school and get the admission details from the principal. You have to fill up the application form and submit it with the required documents and fees.

According to the minimum eligibility criteria to get admission in 9th standard , a candidate must minimum age of 13 years and 6 months as on 31st March of the year of admission.

Eligibility Criteria Required to join 9th Class admission in CBSE based school:

In order to be eligible for getting admission in 9th Class in CBSE based board schools, you are required to meet the below mentioned criteria.

<> The minimum age required to be eligible for getting admission into 9th Class is 13 years and the maximum age must not exceed 15 years in order to be eligible.

<> According to your child's date of birth he/ she is eligible to get admission into 9th Class of CBSE school.

<> You are required to submit all the required documents like School Leaving Certificate or Transfer Certification countersigned by the Educational authorities in respect of the state or other than CBSE

<> You are required to produce the Progress report card of the previous classes. You are required to get the application form from its official website or else you may contact the administrative office of the school in order to proceed further followings.

To join 9th standard in the year and 2018, you should have passed 8th standard from a recognised board. You should be at least 13 years 6 months old to be eligible to get admission in 9th standard. Admission in 9th standard are done only if there are vacant seats and you have to appear and qualify the admission test to get admission for pursuing 9th standard.

There is no any guideline set by the government regarding age criteria for schools to pursue 9th standard.
But as you have mentioned the date of birth of your child then as per this he/she is eligible to join class 9th.
Generally school take admission on this particular age and it is 12 years to 15 years.
