Is private 10th possible after failing in 9th class?
My sister has failed in class 9th (CBSE), and we don't want her to waste the year so we are planning to give her 10th from private board (JAC). Will we be able to get her admission in class 11th in CBSE school after she had scored well in private, without wasting her year?

Yes, it is possible to appear for 10th examinations after failing in Class 9th. You can appear for 10th or SSC examinations as a private candidate or you can study Secondary Course, which is equivalent to Class 10th, through NIOS. You can appear for 10th examinations directly after failing in Class 9th. You can study the subjects through private tuition or tutorial colleges. You can also study through NIOS. You can apply online for taking admission in NIOS. A student who has passed Class VIII and 14 years of age can apply for admission to the Secondary Course (10th) in NIOS. Therefore, candidates after failing 9th class can appear in 10th private or through NIOS. |

Re: Is private 10th possible after failing in 9th class?
It is not advisable to skip 9th standard and get direct admission to 10th standard.
Also it is not allowed to take direct admission in regular schooling for 10th standard without qualifying 9th standard.Since JAC is a recognized board, so after qualifying 10th standard from this board a candidate can take admission to CBSE board for 11th standard. |

Re: Is private 10th possible after failing in 9th class?
There is a possibility that she can get admission in class 11 in CBSE after appearing from a private board but the chances of getting admission in CBSE from a private board is quite low. The cut off marks would be high, also at the same time they will focus on their on board students rather than taking students from another board. So would recommend you to continue on the same board no matter if she is having a year loss as in return it will be good for her in academics.

Re: Is private 10th possible after failing in 9th class?
No, she can only get admission in 10th standard if she has completed her 9th grade from a recognized board, otherwise there is no way of appearing for 10th board examination.
After clearing her 10th boards, she can get admission in 11th standard and can continue with her studies further, there is no problem in it. |

Yes, definitely your sister can apply in any open Schooling directly in class after failing in class 9th examination.
Candidates those who have failed to qualify in class 9th or class 10th examination, can apply for class 10th through Open Schooling to complete his/her class 10th examination. |

Yes, she can get admission in class 10th of an Open schooling Board. For taking admission she will required Transfer certificate and result of class 9th.
In NIOS there will be no attend regular classes. She needs to go for exams only. She has work hard. Because she will not get any guidance of teachers and she will not attend any lectures. She needs to take some tuition classes. Mainly she has to focus on Science and Maths. She can study with the help of Online videos. |
