What is the age criteria required to join 6th standard in CBSE schools? My daughter DOB is 19.07.2007, is she eligible now to apply for 6th standard or not? Can you please guide me with the complete details on the same? Awaiting for the response. Thank you!

The age criteria required to join in 6th standard in CBSE Board School is 10 years 6 months as on 31st March of the year of admission. Your daughter should have passed 5th standard from a recognised board to get admission for pursuing 6th standard in CBSE Board School. Since, your daughter was born on 19-07-2007, she is 10 years old at present, so, she is not eligible to get admission in 6th standard in CBSE school for the academic year 2017-18.

As per the rules framed by CBSE Board, to secure admissions into class 1, The minimum age requirement is 5 years and The maximum age is 7 years. The students should calculate their age until March of the year they are applying in.
