Re: What are the steps required to join NASA?
Let me inform you that at this stage you are not eligible to apply for an organization like NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration).
You should have to be a graduate with science field in order to become eligible for NASA. Since NASA is a field of research and development, so a candidate willing to join this organization any of the following qualifications Engineering degree (Electrical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronics), IT Specialists, Bio-Technology, Microbiology, Geology, PhD in Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry, Human Resource specialists, etc. There is no direct exam available for NASA. You are required to register yourself on the US government portal through which only you can apply for different posts for different departments of NASA. |

Re: What are the steps required to join NASA?
It is very good to hear that you want to join NASA as your career field.
To join NASA, first of all you must have to complete your class 12th with Science stream studying Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, then after completing your class 12th, you have to opt a Graduation degree course in either of Engineering field or in Physical Science subjects from a recognized University with merit score in Graduation. Once you have completed your Graduation degree in any of the above mentioned department, you then have to complete your Ph.D degree in any of Astrophysics, Geophysics, Metaphysics etc. Then appear in the entrance examination conducted by NASA, qualifying in which you can successfully join NASA. |

Since you are in class 9 now its quit early for but its good that you have decided the future of course of action for yourself. In your board exams give your 100% as the marks in your class 10 will make a difference in future, take science in class 11. Same class 12 will also play an integral part in your curriculum so make the most of it. after class 12 you can choose anu of the following courses Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Astronautical Engineering etc.

Re: What are the steps required to join NASA?
In order to get into NASA, you nee to have good educational qualification and it is better if you have some work experience.
However, even if you don't have any such experience you just have to have a PG degree in Astrophysics or any other space related mostly physics related stream. However, after completion of your PG degree, you will have to attend an entrance examination conducted by NASA and after clearing the exam, you will be most eligible to join NASA and carry on with your career ahead. |
