I am studying Diploma in computer science. Can i write I.P.S or I.A.S exam?
Is diploma is equal to degree? please reply me sir..!?

As you are now in Diploma only you cant write for IAS or IPS exam.The eligibility for IAS exam is to be a graduate from any recognised university. So,after your diploma you go for an engineering course in the field you like the best.After your graduation you can write for IAS or IPS exam.I hope this will be good for you.

Diploma is not equal to degree.
Diploma is considered to be lower than that of degree.
You have to do degree after complleting diploma.
In order to apply for IAS/IPS you have to be of atleast 21 years & also should have completed graduation or should be in final year of your graduation.

sorry to say this but you can't apply for IAS unless you have a degree and unquestionably diploma is not equivalent to degree.... so go for B.E and then you can.

No dear you can not write IAS or IPS exams as you should have graduation degree from a recognized university to appear in these exams.


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA UPSC IAS /IPS EXAMS:
Educational Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

Age limit: 21 years must be completed on 1st August of the year, which a candidate is appearing. Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.

you should have a degree from any indian university.

you should have 21 years of age..

you cannot go for ias/ips examinations by completing diploma course.because diploma course does not considered as degree. you should complete your graduation.your age should be minimum of 21 years(completed).

since you are studying for a diploma you are not eligible to sit for IAS or IPS exam. And friend, diploma is never equal to a degree.
I suggest you to go for a degree course after the diploma and then sit for civil services exam.

No friend.You can not write the examination with diplomo.Any degree is the minimum eligibility.

No you are not eligibile to apply for IAS after diploma because
To apply for IAS your age should be 21-30 years for general category.
For OBC it should be 33 years maximum.
For ST/SC it should be 35 years maximum.

You should be a graduate in any disciple.

For preparing for IAS you should have a very strong general knowledge, you should have a good knowledge of the current affairs.
As the syllabus is very broad you have to make a time table to cover all the portions.

The entrance examination is divided into three main stages
Preliminary exam.
Main exam.
Interview.

If you clear all these stages you will become an IAS officer.

How can a diploma will equal to degree. Sorry as the minimum eligibility to take IAS exam is graduation degree.SO, being a diploma holder.You are under qualified to take IAS exam. But you can take IAS exam after your graduation .

Age :- 21 years to 35 years, age relaxation for reserved candidates as per Govt guide lines i.e 3 years in upper limit for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

If you want to become an IAS officer for that you have to apply for civil services exam

Civil Services Exam Will be held in Three Round .

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for I.A.S or I.P.S after passing diploma course.

If you want to become I.P.S or I.A.S you have to pass graduation with any stream.

For I.A.S you have to qualify the civil Services exam.

Civil Services exam is conducted by U.P.S.C once in year.
Qualification:- Pass graduation with any stream from recognized university.

Age limit:-
For Open category:- 21-30 year
For OBC category:- 21-33 YEAR
For ST/SC category:- 21-37 year

Number of Attempts:-
For open category:- 4 attempts
For ST/SC category:- 7 attempts

In I.A.S exam there are three stage Of selection:-
> PRELIMS EXAM
> MAINS EXAM
> INTERVIEW

You can not appear for the Civil Service Examination until you have completed graduation course. The diploma course is not equal to the degree therefore it is not possible for you to apply for the Civil Service Examination.

If you have completed diploma in engineering then I will suggest you to apply for the B.Tech course. You can apply for the B.Tech through lateral entry scheme. This scheme lets the diploma holder take admission in the second year of B.Tech.

For that you will have to appear for the Lateral Entry Engineering Test. After completing B.Tech you will be eligible for the Civil Service Examination.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. The age limit is 21 to 30 years.

5. Upto 3 years relaxation for OBC.

Dear Pramod,

Sorry to say but you are not eligible to write the IAS or IPS exam if you have completed Diploma in Computer Science.

This is because in order to be eligible to write the IAS or IPS Exam , the minimum educational qualification that you should have is Graduation in any discipline from any recognized college/university.

Also , Diploma And Degree are not equal as they are quite different from each other.

If you want to appear in the Civil Services Examination , then first thing that you have to do is to get a Bachelor`s Degree in any stream from any recognized college/university.

Also , you have to consider on the other eligibility criteria too to be eligible for the same.
