IPS stands for Indian Police Service.
The appointment to these service are generally done through Indian Civil Services Examination.

You can't apply for Civil Services Examination before graduation.

The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for the exam are;
Education:
Graduation in any discipline from some recognised university.
Age :
21-30 years for GEN category canddiaets
21-33 years for OBC category canddiaets
21-35 yeasr for SC/ST/PH category canddiaets.

You can apply for the exam during final year of graduation and/or after passing graduation
within specified age limit.
The notification for the exam is published on UPSC official website.

The Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC in two stages.

Preliminary Exam or CSAT
This is common test for all applicants containing questions from General Studies,
English and Mathematical Aptitude.

Main Exam
There are total 9 papers in Main exam.

I. Indian Language Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
II. English Qualifying Paper (300 marks)
III. General Essay type paper (200 marks)
IV. General Studies (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
V. Optional subject-I (Paper-I & II 300 marks each)
VI. Optional subject-II (Paper-I&II 300 marks each)

You have to choose two optional subjects from the following list.

1. Agriculture
2. Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
3. Anthropology
4. Botany
5. Chemistry
6. Civil Engineering
7. Commerce and Accountancy
8. Economics
9. Electrical Engineering
10. Geography
11. Geology
12. History
13. Law
14. Management
15. Mathematics
16. Mechanical Engineering
17. Medical Science
18. Philosophy
19. Physics
20. Political Science and International Relations
21. Psychology
22. Public Administration
23. Sociology
24. Statistics
25. Zoology

You should choose the optional subjects so that you do not have ollowing combination.

- Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
- Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
- Anthropology and Sociology;
- Mathematics and Statistics;
- Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science.
- Management and Public Administration;
- Any two engineering subjects
- Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

no , you have to do some graduation before.
cfriteria are minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years for general,35 for obc, and 37 for sc and st.

Hai,

You are not eligible for IPS exam, after your graduation you are eligible for IPS exam.

IPS(Indian Police Service) exam is conducted by the UPSC, this exam is conducted only once in a year.

Education qualification:

Candidate should be a graduation from a recognised university.

Percentage is not required for this exam.

The applicant who are persuing final year exam is also eligible.

Nationality:

Citizen of india.

Age criteria:

21 years to 30 years,

Relaxation:

3 years for obc,
5 years for sc/st candidates.

No.of attempts:

4 times for general,
7 times for obc,
No limit for sc/st candidates.

Selection procedure:

Preliminary exam,
Main exam,
Interview.

Sorry,you are not eligible for IPS exam the minimum qualification required for this exam is graduation from a recognized university.

IPS stands for INDIAN POLICE SERVICE this exam is conducted by the upsc once a year for recruit the candidates in police department

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR THIS EXAM:

1.Candidate should complete graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.

2.Age limit for this exam is 21 to 30 years.

3.Age relaxation for OBc candidates is 3 years.

4.5 years for SC/ST candidates.

5.Candidate should be a citizen of india.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

1.Preliminary exam

2.Main exam

Personal interview

NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS:

1.4 times for general candidates

2.7 times for OBc candidates

3.There is no limit for SC/ST candidates
