Gaya College, Gaya
Gaya College was established in the year 1944 and it is acting as one of the premier institutions for higher education in the state of Bihar. After the establishment of Magadh University in the year 1962, the college became a part of this university. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council have awarded the college with A grade status and the campus of the college is extended to an area of 57 acres of land.
Courses Offered:
The college is offering education right from intermediate to postgraduate level in about 20 subjects and it is also taking steps to delink the intermediate teaching. The college is offering Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Sanskrit, Philosophy, Pali, Urdu, English, Hindi, Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Psychology, Geography and History, Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Electronics, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry and Physics and Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) It is also offering Master of Arts in mathematics, Psychology, Geography, Political Science, History, M. Sc Physics and M. Com. The other Vocational UG Courses offered by the college are BBM, BCA, Bio-technology, Bio-Chemistry and Information Technology, it is also offering MBA and MCA.
Infrastructure & Physical Facilities in the College:
The campus of the college is located in a built-in area of 42650 sq. meters and a games area of 21 acres is reserved by the college. The campus includes 3 conference rooms, 20 seminar rooms, 18 laboratories and 20 tutorial rooms apart from classrooms. The campus is also provided with two separate hostels for boys and girls with an intake capacity of 256 boys and 64 girls respectively. The campus library has the facility to accommodate 75 members at a time and it has a collection of more than 1 lakh books, 44 subscribed journals and 30 multimedia literatures. The computer centre of the college has a collection of more than 200 computers and the campus has other facilities like gymnasium, auditorium, indoor games, etc…
