What is the educational qualification required to enter the government banking industry?
Normally, banks calling for candidates for the position of clerks and probationary officers require that candidates must be graduates in any discipline with not less than 50% of marks.
Age requirement:
Normally for the position of probationary officers and clerks, banks look for candidates between the age group of 21 and 30 years and for candidates falling under OBC category a relaxation of three years is given in the upper age limit, while it is 5 years and 10 years respectively for SC/ST and PWD candidates.
Mode of selection followed by Public Sector Banks:
For the basic positions like probationary officers and clerks, banks normally select candidates based on their performance in the written test followed by interview. The main purpose behind the written test conducted by banks for recruitment of candidates is to test the reasoning ability, numerical ability, English and current affairs knowledge of the candidates. Candidates should be careful when answering questions in written test since negative marking will be there for every wrong answer.
How to get through the bank examination?
Candidates can crack the bank examinations easily by taking up bank exam coaching offered by different institutions and they can also practice themselves by referring previous year question papers of examinations conducted by different banks.
