The National Institute of Technology is one of the premier technical institutions in our country. The institution carries out the National Institute of Technology Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) for the admittance of students into the Masters of Computer applications course (MCA). The admittance of students is done based on their score and as well as rank in the NIMCET. The score of this exam will be valid for the current academic year only.

This examination can be a bit tough as a large number of aspirants appear for this exam year. Only those students who score good marks will get admittance for the course.

Instructions to be followed for filling in form

• The applicants must fill the form only in CAPITAL LETTERS. They must also ensure that they have given in all the appropriate details. The information they have given must be correct. Besides this, care must be taken not to damage the form by any means.
• The form must be filled using the correct pen only. Care must also be taken to provide the photograph as well as signature in the mentioned space. Those students who have filled the form incorrectly or have not attached any particular document will be disqualified.
• The personal details of the students must be written in the back side of the DD. The admission form is then to be send together with all the necessary documents to the address concerned by either registered or speed post only.
• Exemptions to be taken care while filling in form
• State quotas for the NIMCET examination are available for students of Tamil Nadu. Those aspirants who have passed or have appeared for the qualifying examination from the state of Tamil Nadu will be regarded eligible for the Tamil Nadu State Quota of NIT – Tiruchirappalli. The All India quota is valid in the cases of the other NIT’s in India.

Last date for receipt of applications

The last date for the submission of the NIMCET Application together with the DD of the requisite amount by post or directly by the students is the Second week of April.

Acknowledgement of exam application form

Students who submit their admission form online will receive a confirmation once they register. Students who have submitted the admission form by the offline methods will get an acknowledgement card within 30 days. Those who do not receive this are recommended to contact the NIT. Those aspirants who submit the form directly will get the Acknowledgement Card at the time. In case the application gets rejected, this shall be notified to the aspirants at the earliest.
