How to study MSc Computer Science in Delhi University?

Delhi University (DU) which was established in 1992 is one of the premier universities of the nation. The university has been able to hold its position in the list of top universities and one of the main reasons behind it is its excellent teaching faculty. The university offers a number of courses about 450 in various departments and fields of study. DU provides courses at PhD level and also at post graduate, under graduate and diploma level.

Under the University of Delhi there are more than a total of 83 institutions which is spread across almost all parts of the capital state. DU is a UGC recognized university and in ranking in terms of best educational institution it holds the third position in India. It also has been ranked by the THES-QS University as one of the topmost non IIT universities in India.

Admission Procedure

The University of Delhi conducts entrance tests for the admission to its MSc course in Computer Science. The exam mainly consists of two parts- Test I and Test II. Test I constitutes of objective type questions and Test II has comprehensive type questions both of these will be held in the same day. There will be reservation of 50% seats to those eligible students who completed their BSc in Computer Science from the same University and those students need not take the entrance test. Their admission will be based on the undergraduate level marks.

How to apply?

The application form for the admission to MSc course in Computer Science from Delhi University is available the Computer Science department of the University from second week of May. The interested ones who meet all the eligibility criteria can either collect the application form directly from the department by cash payment. They can send a request letter along with Demand Draft if they wish to get the form via post.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with a minimum aggregate of 60% in BSc Computer Science course are eligible to apply. Also the candidates who have passed BSc Applied Physical Science or B.Sc. (General) Mathematical Sciences (10+2+3 scheme) with Computer Science and Mathematics as compulsory papers and has secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in total as well as separately for both the compulsory subjects can apply. Those candidates having a bachelor’s degree and who have studied at least 8 papers in Computer Science and 2 papers in Mathematics in case of semester system or 6 papers in Computer Science and 2 papers in Mathematics in case of annual system with minimum 60% aggregate in total as well as for Computer Science and Mathematics separately are eligible to apply. In addition to these the applicant should have a minimum age of 20 years as on first week of October.
