IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and it is an all India Combined Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. About IAS Exam:

The IAS examination is conducted in two stages namely preliminary examination and main examination. The preliminary examination is normally conducted during the month of May/June and the main examination is held during the month of October/November. Normally a candidate is permitted to appear only four times to the Civil Service Examination like IAS.
