IIT JEE Exam pattern
The IIT JEE is the exam conducted by the fifteen IIT’s of India for admission into various under graduate courses in India. These institutes are located in various cities of India. They are located in Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Roorkee, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Gandhinagar, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Rajasthan, Ropar, Indore, Mandi and Hyderabad.
These institutes are considered to be the leading institutes in science and technology of India. They conduct various undergraduate, post graduate and research programmes in India. They are considered to be the topmost institutes of India. Admission is strictly on the basis of a written test. Around 10,000 seats are available for which almost 5 lakh students appear every year. IITs impart best knowledge and produce scholars.
Syllabus for IITJEE exam
The syllabus for the IIT JEE exam consists of the syllabus of class 11th and 12th.It covers subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Those students who have completed their 10+2 can start preparing for this exam as the syllabus is the same. Although the syllabus is the same for most competitive exams, the difference between the IITJEE and others is basically in the difficulty level.
Mostly the questions are of very high standard in IIT JEE. Special coaching centers are there , which prepare students for the IITJEE. There is a marked difference between 10th and 12th standards as the emphasis is more on problem solving and analysis , instead of mugging. Question pattern for IITJEE Exam
The government of India recently announced that only those students can give the IITJEE who have secured more than 60% in +2. Apart from this , only two attempts will be given to each candidate. From 2012 onwards, the IITs have returned to the old system of screening candidates. The first paper is the screening paper so that non serious candidates may be rejected. The next step is the long answer type questions that require reasoning ability from students. The first screening paper is objective in nature.
The screening test would be consisting of objective type questions. They will be of 3 hours duration and may consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. They will test reasoning and analytical ability of students. After screening, they have to give the main examination, which is long answer type.
Those students who are able to clear this exam , would get admissions into the prestigious IITs.
IITJEE Eligibilty
The candidates must have passed their 10+2 from a recognized board of India. Also those candidates who are giving their +2 exams are also eligible to apply. The examination is held once a year.
