ISC conducts class 12 board exams every year in the month of March. It felt the need of Environmental Education at the basic level as well as at the HS level and so the environmental Education was included in the curriculum of class 12. The subject teaches the value of healthy environment to the students. It also teaches them how we are polluting our environment and measures to stop this. In a nutshell we can say that the Environmental Education is included as an important subject so that the students get aware of the different activities which are leading to the deteriorating condition of the environment and what steps are to be taken to stop this.

The Environmental Education paper is of 70 marks and is divided into two sections. Section 1 is of 20 marks and Section 2 is of 50 marks. Section 1 contains objective type questions which carries 1 and 2 marks. There are total 15 questions in Section 1 of which 10 questions are 1 mark each and 5 questions are 2 marks each. Section 2 has 9 questions of 10 marks each but only 5 questions are to be answered. Each question has 2 parts of 5 marks each. The time allotted for answering all the questions is 3 hours. Students are also given 15 minutes in the beginning to read the question papers.
