The O.P. Jindal Institute of Technology came into existence with the objective of imparting quality education and training to youth to take up the future challenges of developing India. The institute is affiliated to the Chhatisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University located in Bhilai and it is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Courses offered:

O.P. Jindal Institute of Technology offers UG Engineering courses in the following subjects:

• Mining Engineering

• Civil Engineering

• Electrical & Electronics Engineering

• Metallurgical Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering

• Computer Science & Engineering

These courses are offered with lateral entry facility as well for diploma holders.

Intake Capacity:

O.P. Jindal Institute of Technology is approved with an intake capacity of 60 students per year for all branches of engineering, except for Mechanical Engineering course for which the intake capacity is 120 students per year. For lateral entry, the institute has been sanctioned with an intake capacity of 6 students per year for all branches, except for mechanical engineering course for which the intake capacity is 12 students per year.

Admission Procedure:

Of the total number of seats available for each branch of engineering 75% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the state of Chhattisgarh, 10% of the seats are reserved for candidates belonging to other states, while 15% of the seats are management quota seats. For admission to state quota seats, candidates will have to qualify in the pre-engineering test conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board followed by counseling conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education of Government of Chhattisgarh. For admission of All India quota seats, candidates should possess valid AIEEE score and these candidates will be called for counseling session by the Directorate of Technical Education of Government of Chhattisgarh.

Lateral Entry Admission:

For lateral entry admission, two category of candidates are eligible and here are the details:

• Candidates with three-year diploma in appropriate discipline from an institution recognized by the AICTE are eligible to apply to the second year of the degree course. These candidates will have to clear the foundation subjects in mathematics, chemistry and physics  according to the ordinance of the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University

• Candidates with three-year B. Sc from a recognized institution with mathematics, chemistry and physics as compulsory subjects are also eligible to apply for the second year of the degree course. These candidates also have to clear foundation subjects like Engineering Graphics, Workshop Practice, Engineering I and Engineering II according to the ordinance of the Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University
