Admission Process for Ph.D in Forest Research Institute

Post graduates in concerned subject can apply for Ph.D courses in Forest Research Institute. Selection of eligible candidates is done through a written test carried out by the institute. Questions for the test are asked in two sections, Section-A and Section-B. For Section A, there will be questions on

  • General Awareness
  • Research Aptitude
  • General English

Section of general awareness and general English carries 25 questions each. Thirty questions will be asked from the section of research aptitude and it is solely based on reasoning and Statistics.

A total of 120 questions are asked for Section-B. Questions are asked from sessions of

  • Agriculture
  • Chemistry
  • Environmental Sciences
  • Forestry
  • Life Sciences
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Wood Science & Technology

Applicants should attend any of the two sessions from those mentioned above. General/OBC category candidates need to score a minimum of 50% marks in the entrance exam to qualify. At the same time, SC/ST candidates need to have a minimum of 45% marks only.

Qualified candidates in the written test will be intimated over mail or phone. Such candidates should reach the University with all supporting documents claiming their qualification and other details. After verification, candidates can get enrolled to the course.
