Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education is a government agency established under the Government of India. The council is basically an autonomous organization which comes under the control of Ministry of Environment and Forests. Conducting forstry research and imparting forestry education are two of the major functions of the council. There are total eight institutes which comes under the council. The council has three advanced centres located at Dehradun, Shimla, Ranchi, Jodhpur etc. The council’s functions also includes the transfer of the technologies developed to the states of India.

1. Recruitment of Scientist B (Forest Ecology):

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Forestry or Botany or Environmental Science with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

2. Recruitment of Scientist B (Environment Management):

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Environment Management or Environmental Science with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

Educational Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Statistics or Applied Statistics with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

5. Recruitment of Scientist B (Information Technology):

Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years as on 15 September 2011.
Educational Qualification: B.E. or B.Tech degree in Computer Science with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

6. Recruitment of Scientist B (Hydrology):
No. of posts: Only 5 posts are available.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 30 years as on 15 September 2011.
Educational Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Water Resources or Hydrology or Soil and Water Conservation Engineering or Geohydrology with atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized university.
Pay Scale: Rs. 15600-39100 with a Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.

Application Fee:

Candidates are requited to pay an application fee of Rs. 200 through the means of a Demand Draft. SC/ST/PH/Women candidates are exempted from the payment of this application fee. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Drawing & Disbursing Officer (DDO), ICFRE payable at Dehradun. The demand draft should be issued by any Nationalized Bank.
