Scope for Higher Studies after B.F.Sc

Students can choose to go for the Masters level program in Fishery Science (M.F.Sc). This course is offered at:

  • Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi (post-harvest technology)
  • Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar (freshwater aquaculture)
  • Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi (mariculture)

Students who have a graduate level degree in Science can apply for these courses. Admittance to these courses is done as per the marks secured by students in the All-India Agriculture Postgraduate Combined Entrance Test carried out by the Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR). Doctoral programs are offered in Fishery sciences too. Admittance to this course is done through an entrance exam carried out by the Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE).
